Accord Architecture

Located in Indianhead Park on the West side of Mason City, IA, this building is designed to be flexible for multiple tenants. Each tenant space is defined by the roof line and each have ample signage area on the exterior wall. This exciting building is one of many retail buildings in the Indianhead Park Development designed by Accord Architecture and constructed by Accord's parent company, Henkel Construction.

Retail development is strong on the west side of Mason City, particularly in the Indianhead Park and Sedars Auto Park areas. The Indianhead Park development has seen tremendous growth since the construction of the Super Walmart anchor store by Accord's parent company, Henkel Construction. Since then, Accord has designed buildings for two separate developers in Indianhead Park and we are continuing to do work for one such developer. Since 2003, Accord has designed buildings for Famous Footwear, Petco, MC Sports, Fashion Bug, Maurices and Subway/US Cellular, all at Indianhead Park.

Culligan's new building is located in the Sedars Auto Park Development in Mason City, Iowa. This precast concrete building is ideal for the storage, processing and maintenance of water conditioning equipment. The exterior includes a playful use of the "water wave" from the Culligan logo painted as a band around the entire building. Natural light is introduced through high windows along the south side of the building. A generous office area includes a meeting room, breakroom and bathrooms and a small sales display area. Glass block with a waving appearance is also used in various window openings at the building entry and high windows. This project was designed by Accord in 1999.

McGregor's has been selling furniture in Mason City, Iowa for many years. Their store on the west side of Mason City was not large enough due to their growth and the exterior of the store required improvement. Accord designed a new front to the store on two sides of the building and added a 12,420 square foot warehouse at the back of the retail area in this project, while expanding the showroom to nearly 30,000 square feet.

Sedars Auto Park is a development on the west side of Mason City, Iowa. Jerry Sedars' auto dealership was the first to build (constructed by Henkel Construction) on this stretch of land, with Cinema West Theatres designed by Accord and constructed soon after in 1998. Since then, three other buildings were constructed in this park, including Culligan and AutoEdge (formerly Ryerson Auto) designed by Accord. Also, in 2001, Accord designed an addition to Sedars Auto dealership.

In 1999, Accord designed a dealership for the sale of pre-owned autos for Dan Ryerson in Mason City, Iowa in the Sedars Auto Park development. This dealership is now known as "Auto Edge". The building is constructed of flat metal panels on wood framing and includes a showroom with sales offices and a shop/garage.

Accord's retail experience includes a Hollywood Video store in Indianhead Park in Mason City, Iowa designed in 2002. The building is 6,000 SF and constructed of concrete block and E.I.F.S. The construction was completed in just nine weeks.
