Palo Alto County Health System
Palo Alto County Health System in Emmetsburg, Iowa hired Accord in 2005 to master plan and design many departments, both inpatient and outpatient. Accord designed Long Term Care, Acute Care, Obstetrics, Surgery, Pharmacy and Dietary departments for the hospital. This four-phase project is currently under construction.
New Additions to the Acute Care, Long Term Care and Dietary departments along with re-facing of many exterior facades provide the hospital with a more unified appearance to match the architecture of the existing clinic constructed in 2000.
In 2008, Accord was hired again to design the complete renovation of the Surgery area, a new addition for Community Health, renovation of a clinic wing and the hospital business office areas.

Central Community Hospital
The site at Central Community Hospital presents challenges to any designer wishing to add on to this hospital in Elkader, Iowa. Accord has done so twice since 2003. The first addition was for a CT Scan Machine and decontamination space. The second addition was for Physical Therapy/Rehab. Accord was again retained in 2007 to renovate the existing Surgery area in the center of the hospital. That project is is now complete.
During these past eight years, Accord has provided design assistance to CCH on numerous occassions for small projects. Accord is currently designing a master plan for the facility creatively exploring the possibilities of this challenging site.

Mercy Medical Center - NH
In 2001, Accord Architecture and Henkel Construction Companies began the task of designing and building a multi-phase hospital reorganization for Mercy Medical Center in New Hampton, Iowa. In this project, a large addition was constructed for the ER, OR, Same-Day Surgery rooms and other support spaces. A helipad was built very near to the ER area along with an ambulance garage. Once the new addition was constructed and occupied, many existing areas of the hospital were renovated, such as Radiology, Lab, waiting/reception, Obstetrics, Specialty Clinic and PT.
This multi-million dollar project was such a success that MMCNH once again hired Accord and Henkel in 2008 for their 11,000 SF Family Clinic addition and a new main entrance canopy. This canopy was designed to create continuity in appearance between the hospital and clinic.

Floyd County Memorial Hospital
For the past 10 years, Accord Architecture has been providing quality design services to Floyd County Memorial Hospital in Charles City, Iowa. In 2004, Accord designed the renovation to the Surgery area in the center of the hospital. Most recently in 2006, a renovation to the entire second floor acute care and Obstetrics areas were designed by Accord, with Construction Management by Accord's parent company, Henkel Construction.
