Accord Architecture

In 2006, Floyd County Memorial Hospital in Charles City, Iowa hired Accord Architecture to design a new Obstetrics suite at the second floor of their existing hospital. This project was part of a larger project which included a complete renovation of the second floor in areas such as acute care and pharmacy. The OB suite was completely renovated to include three spacious LDRP rooms, a new nurse station, an outpatient procedure room and more. The hospital moved into this space in February of 2008 to rave reviews!

As part of the hospital-wide expansion and renovation project at Palo Alto County Health System in Emmetsburg, Iowa, the Obstetrics department is now located in the new addition with comfortable and beautiful patient care/delivery rooms . Accord designed these LDRP rooms and the nursery area to be in close proximity to the main nurse station for Acute Care, thereby providing 24-hour monitoring of the Obstetrics area. A baby security system is provided.

Accord designed a new Obstetrics department for Mercy Medical Center in New Hampton, Iowa in such a way that the main nurse station for the hospital's Acute Care Department was also the main nurse station for Obstetrics. LDRP rooms are the birthing suites and include an attached large bathing room. To help mothers feel the comforts of home, LDRP rooms feel warm with detailed wood enlay in the floor around the bed and a use of two wood colors on cabinets.

The design provided control of entry to and from the Obstetrics department for baby security.
