Accord Architecture

Palo Alto County Health System provides many services to the community of Emmetsburg, Iowa. One of these services is the Long Term Care department called PARC Hall, which links a non-hospital nursing care facility to the hospital. This stepped care idea serves the community so well that the hospital decided the Long Term Care rooms deserve improvement. The new design by Accord includes two new additions (one on the east and one on the west side of the current LTC wing) and a complete renovation of the existing building. This recently completed project includes large private resident Long Term Care rooms with private bathrooms and closets. Accord recognized the importance of "community" when designing the new and renovated areas of this department by designing a beauty shop and aviary area in the small seating room near the nurse station at the "hub" of the PARC Hall wing. On the south end, a community room with a patio gives residents a place for social activities.
